Goals and Making Lists

Goals and Making Lists

Did you know that Making Goals and Making Lists and Removing the Unimportant- can help you accomplish more each day?

Making a goal at the beginning of the year is something I always do. However revisiting those goals this week I again decided to focus on is removing the unimportant.

There are the lists. The daily plans, to do list, goals and removing unimportant things, and staying on track. Keeping up with the important. January seems like a long time ago doesn’t it? I made several goals and like you get busy! Busy with activity hustling and bustling. However, I look at what I wrote and it gets to me every time. De clutter the unimportant so I can focus on the important!

Goals and Making Lists and Removing the Unimportant- How do you do that? Let’s start with removing the unimportant. Emptying the fridge of things that don’t look like food anymore! Basic things like taking trash out. Or things that waste your time. Endless emails, phone calls or social media scrolling… and then you wonder where the time went.

If you were to make a list of 5 things right now that need to go by writing them down…. what would come to mind. For me it might be old stacks of mail, paper, and old magazines. Clothes that don’t fit. Tupperware and Rubbermaid containers without lids. More importantly things that take up important room that just need to be gone through.

Writing down what is important is a great way to see what you think about. What you’d like to spend more time doing. What is deep within you that needs room to grow! And remember your why. What makes you tick. What makes you come alive inside. For some they figure this out early on. For others it may be a process.

What makes you come alive inside?

There may be several things that make you come alive. But give some attention to them today. Plant the seeds, water them and give them time to grow.

Goals-giving myself extra time.

I have replaced watching a one hour tv show with doing something I love…. that ends up being about 6-8 hours a week realistically. But it helps me grow and helps me develop more of who I want to be.

Don’t give up your life while you’re living your life.

Be your best.

Philippians 4:13 I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

Psalm 37:4 Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart.

Psalm 16:11 you make known to me the path of life, you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand.

There are good things in store for you. But it’s like trying to hang up new clothes in an overly full closet. You have to remove something to add what is good. Take time today to think of something you realistically can remove to fill with good.
