Running Towards Destiny

Hey everyone! I don’t know about you but I feel like when my feet hit the ground some type of stop watch is clicked to the on position and I am rushing towards…destiny. In my posts before I have shared about the process each day…planning, writing good words in my planner and in the margins of my Bible to remind myself of what I am supposed to be doing.

You may think ‘well what am I supposed to be doing?’ It is simple- based on life so far, where it is, where you wished it was, and where it could be decide what you could do today that will direct you towards your destiny.  Destiny doesn’t necessarily just happen. You have to point your self towards it. Your actions can’t be staying at home, watching tv, or going to work, when you feel called to be a doctor. Your actions would need to head to the nearest college, community or otherwise, enroll in classes, start studying….point your actions towards your destiny.

For example – I have raised my children. They are all amazing individuals who are serving God and representing the Kingdom of God with purpose and destiny. But when they were little I directed them like a coach directing players on a field in a game so to speak. I told them ‘one day God is going to use you and you have a purpose.’ So this is what we are going to do.

My father Dick Mills gave my husband and I scriptures when our kids were tiny about how God was going to use them….but it was up to us to raise and direct them towards their purpose.

I tried to inspire them, their spirits, their souls and their direction with the words I spoke and my actions. I did not leave it up to them to decide where they were headed. They had skills, gifts and interests that pointed them in a direction, but my husband and I encouraged them to educate and train and get better at what they did so that they would be at the top of their game.

I know that a sharp Super Bowl type athlete is coached, trained, drilled and pushed forward to one day reach a goal of skill, winning and confidence. I looked at my kids and decided I was their coach! Haha…easy not at all.

But mama was determined.

As far as destiny is concerned, it can be the focus starting today. If you think. you don’t have time, I want to encourage you…give up one activity, one tv show, one meal and spend that 30 minutes or 60 minutes directed towards your destiny. Listen to a podcast while you are cooking or cleaning, watch a youtube vide on how to start a business, or write an ebook, or a song….read, listen, actively fill yourself with new material and resources.

Don’t stay where you are. I hear someone say…” I haven’t come this far to just come this far.”  Every day can be a new day and a fresh start towards where you want to go. It is never too late. Don’t believe that lie.

Like a football player you have to head down the field to catch the ball or cross the line to the end zone. No one is going to hand you the ball or say ‘here you cross the line, I’ll let you.’

You have to run, push, head towards, get knocked down, get back up….cross that line.

I Corinthians 9:24-27

Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize.
Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last, but we do it to get a crown that will last forever.
Therefore I do not run like someone running aimlessly; I do not fight like a boxer beating the air.
No, I discipline my body and make it my slave so that after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified for the prize.

Blessings!
