Learning New Things

When my son showed me what he was working on (a video for a large church conference) I asked him how he came about learning how to do it. He said I am always learning new things. My question was – how do you go about learning? Watching videos? Reading a book? Reading articles? A podcast?  And he replied all of it.

He is brilliant where computers and technology is concerned. With me, I am always trying to learn new things as well, perhaps a bit slower, but still learning. My capacity and desire to learn is even greater now than when I attended college. I can’t seem to read enough.

I also am finding that you have to continually fill up and educate yourself to pour out wisdom and experience.

No one wants to know what you know if you don’t know it.

But I will be honest, learning new techniques and how to create ebooks, and write courses is a learning trend I am determined to accomplish. It fascinates me when I see an E-course someone has put together….and I wonder “how did they do that?” And of course there are courses how to write courses. There are numerous articles and YouTube videos showing you how to write this or that… Sometimes it is difficult to keep up with the fast pace of computer knowledge.

But for me, when I hit a road block….I call my son! I make sure I ask intelligent questions. Like “where does the code go in the HTML?” He knows exactly what I am asking. He does want to know why I even know how to ask about coding! Haha.

Always learning….usually frustrated too. But always learning!

Proverbs 4:6-7 Do not forsake wisdom and she will protect you; love her, and she will watch over you. The beginning of wisdom is this: Get wisdom. Though it cost all you have, get understanding.
